Add gates

Add gate openings to show where access points belong and how they affect the fence sections being quoted.

Set gate widths before placing openings

Open the Gate Openings panel and check the default widths for single and double gates. Gate clicks use these widths, so update them before placing repeated openings across the plan.

Use the selected gate controls when a specific opening needs its own exact width. This is useful for driveway gates, side access gates or openings measured separately on site.

Place a single or double gate

  1. Choose single gate or double gate mode from the toolbar.
  2. Place the gate on the grid near the relevant fence run.
  3. Select the gate to review its type and width.
  4. Adjust the width if the opening needs a custom measurement.

How gates affect fence runs

When a gate is attached to a fence run, Fencify records it as an opening and deducts the gate width from the parent fence length used for fencing materials. The gate itself is still included for quoting as a gate item or gate run detail.

The plan summary updates the gate count while the selected gate panel shows whether the gate is attached to a run or stands alone.

Gate checks before syncing

  • Check every gate type is correct.
  • Confirm the opening width in metres.
  • Review whether the gate is positioned against the intended fence run.
  • Delete any extra gate that was added while sketching.
