Create a fence model

Create a fence model when you need a reusable pricing structure for a fence type, supplier range or standard construction method.

Where a model starts

A fence model begins with a model name, optional default supplier label, fence type and bay size. The bay size represents the spacing used for model calculations, commonly the post spacing for a standard run.

The model becomes useful for quoting after its components are added. Components connect products to calculation rules such as per post, per bay, per metre or per run.

Creating the model record

  1. Open Fence Models.
  2. Choose Create Model.
  3. Enter a clear model name, such as a standard Colorbond or timber construction.
  4. Choose a default supplier label if it helps organise the model.
  5. Select the fence type and enter the bay size in metres.
  6. Save the model, then open its components to add the material recipe.

Before adding components

Check that the product catalogue includes the posts, sheets, rails, hardware, gates or other products the model will need.

Confirm the fence type settings are suitable, especially colour and gate capabilities.

Use a naming convention that makes the model easy to choose inside quoting screens.
