Project job costing
Use job costing to compare the project estimate with actual labour, material and other costs as the job progresses.
Baseline and actual cost position
Set an estimated baseline for the project, then record actual cost entries against the job. Fencify calculates the actual total, variance amount and variance percentage so authorised users can see whether delivery is tracking against the expected cost position.
Variance thresholds can be set by percentage or dollar amount. When actual costs exceed the selected threshold, the project can surface a variance alert.
Recording job costs
- Use labour entries for crew, subcontractor or task-based labour costs.
- Use material entries for stock, supplier invoices or received goods.
- Use other entries for costs that sit outside labour and materials.
- Use notes and occurred-at dates to keep the cost history useful later.
Material actuals and receipts
Material actuals can be recorded from purchase order receipts, manual adjustments or stock use. Supplier and inventory product references help connect the actual cost back to the materials being used on site.
