Quotes, Quote Builder and Quote Revisions
Quote revisions and commercial snapshots
Use revisions and commercial snapshots to understand how a quote changed and what financial position was captured when it was sent or accepted.
Revision history on a quote
Quote revisions are created when important Quote Builder actions change the quote, such as adding, updating or deleting runs and items. A revision stores the quote state, runs, manual items and quote items at that point in time.
The quote detail page shows recent revision snapshots and can compare two selected revisions where comparison parameters are supplied.
Sent and accepted snapshots
Commercial snapshots capture key financial details when a quote is sent and when it is accepted. They include subtotal, GST, total, deposit percentage, deposit amount, payment schedule information and line item payloads.
Using the records during review
- Check the sent snapshot when a customer asks what value was originally issued.
- Check the accepted snapshot before project setup or payment planning.
- Use revision history to investigate changed totals, added items or removed runs.
- Compare recent revisions when you need to see which line items or values changed.
Practical record-keeping checks
Before sending, accepting or converting a quote, review the current quote total and generated items. Revisions and snapshots help you audit changes later, but the current quote should still be checked before customer-facing or operational action.
