Model components

Use model components to define the products and calculation rules that make a fence model useful in quote calculations.

How components drive estimating

Each component links an inventory product to a model and assigns a logic type. The logic type tells Fencify how the product should be counted when a fence run is priced.

Available logic types are per post, per bay, per metre and per run. The multiplier adjusts quantity for the selected rule, such as two rails per bay or a fixed allowance per run.

Adding a component to a model

  1. Open Fence Models and choose Edit Components for the model.
  2. Choose Add Component.
  3. Select the inventory product, checking the supplier label and price shown in the selector.
  4. Choose the calculation type.
  5. Set the multiplier and add the component to the model.

Reviewing the component recipe

The component table shows the product, supplier context, logic type, multiplier and estimated cost contribution. Review this list before using the model in Quote Builder.

If a global model is opened for editing, Fencify creates or reuses an account-owned copy so your changes are kept to your catalogue.

Practical estimating checks

Check that products selected as components have current prices.

Use per post and per bay rules only where the bay size assumption is correct.

Remove components carefully, then review the quote result the next time the model is used.
