Create suppliers before mapping catalogue products or model labels to the businesses you buy materials from.
When to add a supplier
Add a supplier when your team regularly orders products from that business, needs supplier-specific catalogue entries, or wants supplier lead-time context during planning.
A supplier record can store contact details, address, a display colour and lead-time days. These details support day-to-day ordering and make supplier-linked products easier to recognise.
Creating the supplier record
- Open Supplier Management.
- Choose New Supplier.
- Enter the supplier name, then add email, phone and address details where available.
- Enter expected lead-time days if your team uses that value for planning.
- Choose a supplier label colour and save the supplier.
After the supplier is saved
Review the supplier row to confirm the details are readable and accurate.
Map relevant inventory products to the supplier from the product catalogue.
Use the same naming style across suppliers so filters and lists stay predictable.
