Import Wizard
Upload a CSV
Upload a CSV with a clear header row so Fencify can stage the rows and prepare field suggestions.
Prepare the file
Use a CSV file with the first row set as column headers. Keep headers specific, such as Customer Name, Email, Site Address, Invoice Number, Amount, Supplier or Item Code. Clear headers improve the mapping suggestions shown after upload.
Launch imports are capped at 2,500 rows per CSV. Split larger exports into smaller files before uploading.
Uploading from the wizard
- Open Import Wizard.
- Choose the Source platform that produced the CSV.
- Choose the Import type that matches the rows in the file.
- Select the CSV file.
- Submit the upload and wait for Fencify to stage the import.
What Fencify checks on upload
Fencify checks that the import staging tables are available, that the import type is valid, that you have the required access and that a CSV file has been provided. The file is then parsed into headers and data rows. Rows with column count issues are flagged early so they can be reviewed later.
After a successful upload
When the CSV is staged, Fencify creates an import job, records the headers, stores the row data for review and redirects you to field mapping. A saved mapping template may be applied automatically when the source, target and header layout match a previous import.
