Labour rates
Use Labour & Difficulty Rates to manage site-condition charges that can flow from lead survey answers into quote pricing.
Reading labour and difficulty charges
The rates table shows the condition label, system key, unit price and charge type. Charge types can be per metre, per post or fixed fee.
Default rate keys match known site survey conditions such as hard digging, clay drilling, tight access, stair access and removal. Custom rates can be added for extra conditions your team wants to price consistently.
How rates flow into estimating
Default keys can match lead survey answers automatically. Custom rates appear as selectable additional surcharges on the lead survey; when selected, their keys are saved to the lead and can be added during quote build.
The system key should be stable and readable, using lowercase words separated by underscores. The label is what your team reads in the rates table.
Useful review checks
Confirm unit prices are current before estimating.
Use per metre for length-based work, per post for post-related labour and fixed fee for once-off charges.
Review missing default rates if your team has removed a default surcharge that should be available again.
